Company profile:
BRB International BVBRB is one of the largest private companies in the world specializing in Silicones, Lubricants, Additives and Chemicals. BRB aims to close the gap between important multinationals and their official distributors and/or clients and distinguishes itself by its capacity for providing fast and flexible services. The company places great importance on R&D, technical support and unique tailor-made products.BRB was established in 1981 as a distribution business. Four years later the company began producing lubricants in Ittervoort in the Netherlands. The clientele was expanded in the late 1990s to include larger international accounts and BRB decided to undergo a professionalization process. BRB works with two sales departments: LAC (Lubricants, Additives and Chemicals) and Silicones. The company has six locations and four warehouses worldwide. Joint ventures were also established with partners in Germany and Malaysia. In early 2011, BRB won ABN AMRO's Jan Huygen van Linschoten Prize for its international achievements. SiliconesBRB has earned a major global reputation in the development and production of fully synthetic Si-O-based polymers, also known as silicones. The best known example is poly(dimethylsiloxane), or PDMS. This polymer has a repeating (CH3)2SiO unit. These materials form the building blocks of the silicone industry and can be used to make a number of important commercial products. BRB offers a very wide selection of silicone products for a variety of purposes. Personal Care is an important market. Silicones are employed here as a brightening agent, as a base for active ingredients or as an aesthetic additive in hair and skin care products. LACThe LAC department stands for Lubricants, Additives, and Chemicals. The LAC category includes approximately 500 products which are manufactured for various purposes. A wide variety of lubricants are produced at the in-house factory in Limburg and at Viscotech in Germany for use in cars, forklifts and countless types of machinery. BRB manufactures various oil additives for turning basic oil into a high-quality lubricant. A variety of oils can be made from a certain base, each with its own unique characteristics. Additives are used in almost all motor oils that are currently sold. The range of chemicals varies from coolants, wiper fluid/antifreeze and solvents to very advanced products such as paint additives and special biodegradable industrial cleaners. The processEvery assignment begins in the sales department. When clients are looking for a new product or have a specific question, the R&D department is assigned the task of researching the possible options. Once an assignment has been confirmed the management office goes to work. They schedule production and determine which raw materials are required. The manufacturing process consists of various components. The blending division collaborates with the packaging division. Then there's the forwarding division, which ensures that the materials are ready for every part of the process. The production department also has a special EX room which has been designed for working with flammable and explosive materials, as well as its own technical service for maintenance. Once the production process is completed the logistics department goes to work. This department is also highly specialized. BRB deals with hazardous materials and complicated laws and * objective is to address the client's needs as flexibly as possible while guaranteeing both quality and safety.
